Marie-Laure Garnier
Révélation Classique ADAMI, Marie-Laure Garnier was recently announced as the HBSC Prizewinner. At the opera, we experience this promising soprano in principal roles such as the Cantatice in Boesmans’s Reigen, Puccini’s Tosca, Gerhilde in Wagner’s The Valkyrie and Ygraine in Dukas’s Ariadne and Bluebeard at the Capitole Theater in Toulouse.

The artist is particularly fond of the Lied and the melody. Her singing deploys a palette of colors, tells stories, serves and embodies the spoken word. Passionate about chamber music, she can be found alongside Adam Laloum, Anne Le Bozec, Mary Olivon, Célia Oneto Bensaid, Tristan Raës and Jonas Vitaud.

Marie-Laure Garnier appears in recital on prestigious stages such at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, la Philharmonie in Paris, le Capitole in Toulouse and le Festival de La Chaise-Dieu.

Abroad, she has appeared at the Oxford Lieder Festival, at the Reina Sofia Auditorium in Madrid, at the Palazzo Contarini Polignac in Venice, at Skebo Manor in Sweden, at the Schumannhauss in Germany and the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow.

During the 2019-2020 season, we can hear her at the Festival de La Chaise-Dieu, in the opera houses of Compiègne, Arles, Rouen, Lille and at the Musée d’Orsay. Then, she will take off for Montreal, London and Oxford.

Lastly, she’ll appear at the Capitole in Toulouse and at the Opéra Royal at the Château of Versailles in Platée de Rameau.

The soprano Marie-Laure Garnier debuted her artistic studies in Guyana and later at the CRR in Paris. In 2009, she joined the lyrical singing class of Malcolm Walker at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris.

After a brilliant singing prize, she earned a performing arts diploma as well as a Masters degree in chamber music.

Marie-Laure Garnier is a prizewinner in several competitions, notably the International Singing Competition in Mâcon (Concours International de chant de Mâcon) in 2014 and the Cziffra Foundation in 2015. At the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition in 2017, the soprano was the recipient of the Prix de la Mélodie Française alongside the pianist Célia Oneto Bensaid. She was named “Young Talent of Outre-Mer 2018” by the Réseau des Talents d’Outre-Mer and earned the vocal prize at the Outre-Mer 2019.

Besides her love for the stage, Marie-Laure Garnier is an artist invested in community service through socio-cultural efforts. In fact, she partnered with the Philharmonie de Paris and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence to host various cultural mediations with audiences who wouldn’t ordinarily have access to classical music.

She regularly organizes choral singing workshops in schools and companies, and directs the gospel choir The Sharing Singers, with whom she has performed numerous concerts for isolated people (in retirement or medically assisted living communities.)
