Cellist Aurélienne Brauner and pianist Lorène de Ratuld formed the Luperca Duo more than 10 years ago!

Aurélienne and Lorène met at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris during their years of study. It was following a concert in 2011 that they decided to engage together in an in-depth partnership: the cello-piano duo.

Aurélienne and Lorène perform works from German romanticism (Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Schumann), the Russian repertoire (Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Shostakovich) and especially those from French music which they are particularly fond of.

Aurélienne Brauner plays a cello by Nicolas-François Vuillaume from 1859.

Aurélienne Brauner
has been named super-soliste at the Orchestre National de France since 2021.

On stage, she has performed with Patrice Fontanarosa, David Grimal, Paul Katz, Svetlin Roussev, François Salque, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Maxim Vengerov, Thierry Escaich, Raquele Magalhaes and Paolo Rigutto as part of the trio Valadon.

As a soloist Aurélienne has played with the “Orchestre National de Lille”, the Baden-Baden philharmonic orchestra, the Douai-Région Nord/Pas-de-Calais orchestra, the “Orchestre National Bordeaux-Aquitaine and the “Orchestre de chambre de Lyon”. Her repertoire includes the works of Lalo, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak and the Brahms double concerto with Alexandra Soumm.

Aurélienne has also played in New York, Kyoto, Tokyo, Santander, Verbier, Berlin, la Roque d’Anthéron, at the Philharmonie de Paris, Théâtre du Châtelet, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Théâtre de Tunis, Salle Cortot, Scène national in Annecy, Grand théâtre in Aix-en-Provence, Forum Grimaldi in Monaco, the Tchaikovsky conservatory and Philharmonie in Moscow, Palazzetto Bru Zane in Venice, Villa Carlotta in Italy as well as several festivals in France and abroad (Sinfonia in Périgord, Concerts de Vollore, Musiciennes à Ouessant, Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Journéés Ravel in Montfort-l’Amaury, Aix-en-Provence festival, Flâneries Musicales in Reims, Abbaye de Royaumont and Château d’Orbyhus in Sweden).

In February 2018, as a member of the Gallien trio alongside Tristan Liehr (violin) and Emmanuel Christien (piano) she was awarded 3rd prize in the prestigious «Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne » in Grasse. In September of that same year she won first prize and the audience prize at the twenty-third « Gaetano Zinetti » competition in Verona.

In April 2018 with the pianist Lorène de Ratuld, their CD « Crépuscule » was released under the Anima-Records label.

In 2016 her recording of the works of David Monrad Johansen pour SIMAX Classic in Norway was nominated for a norwegian Grammy. In 2010-11 Aurélienne was selected for the International Holland Music Sessions as part of the New Masters On Tour initiative to perform in a concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In 2009 the Académie des Beaux-Arts awarded her the Fondation Del Duca prize in recognition of the start of her musical career.

Lorène de Ratuld
Throughout concerts and recordings, Lorène de Ratuld presents a vast repertoire: centered on the romantic period and French music, it also gives pride of place to little-known composers, rare or unpublished works and today's composers (N. Bacri, K. Beffa, S. Bortoli, P. Far-ago, N. Mondon, F. Mulsant).

A student of Brigitte Engerer, she received a rich training at the CNSMD in Paris: after her piano prize with unanimous distinction Very Good, she perfected her skills with Jean-François Heisser (piano improvement cycle), Christian Ivaldi (music of room) and Anne Grappotte (vocal accompaniment). Winner of the Seiler International Piano Competition in 2003, she won several prizes in 2004 at the International Piano Campus Competition, including that of the Classica-Répertoire magazine which published her first recital (“Discovery” CD). In 2005, she received the Lucien Durosoir Prize with Geneviève Laurenceau and, in 2011, the Pro Musicis Prize.

In recital or chamber music, Lorène de Ratuld is a guest at the Auvers-sur-Oise, Piano à Auxerre, Matinales d'Arles, Serres d'Auteuil, Piano en Valois, Berlioz Festival, Epau, 1001 Notes Festival, Ravel Days in Montfort-l'Amaury, Moments musicales de Chalosse… and also performs in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy (Bru Zane Foundation), Romania, Sweden and in various African countries. In addition to her duo activity with Aurélienne Brauner, she plays alongside the violinist François Pineau-Benois, the singers Roselyne Martel-Bonnal and Valérie Condoluci, and the Soloists of the Paris Chamber Orchestra and the Bordeaux-Aquitaine Orchestra . Attracted by the theater, she participated in several shows by singer and actor Mario Hacquard.

His discography reflects his artistic choices and his commitment to different artists and labels: Récital Dutilleux/Beffa (“Coup de Cœur” from the Académie Charles Cros), Work for violin and piano by L. Durosoir (“Gramophone recommends”), Sonatas for cello and piano by C. Franck, G. Fauré and L. Vierne with Aurélienne Brauner. Recently, Piano Works by F. Mulsant (“5 Stars” from Classica) and the complete works for piano by J. de La Presle (“5 Diapasons”), previously unreleased on disc, were released.
