Info for ­Spectrum

With Spectrum, the Colori Ensemble presents its third album for Aliud Records in close collaboration with the Frisian Music Archive. Earlier releases were Colori Miti (2015) and Evasio (2019). The ensemble’s name derives from the composition Colori by the composer Wim van Ligtenberg, written in 2012. Since then, various composers have dedicated their compositions to the ensemble. Apart from new, contemporary repertoire, the ensemble performs their own arrangements of classical masterpieces.

The members of the ensemble are Rianne Jongsma (flute), Wilma Jongsma (oboe), Arjan Jongsma (marimba) and Frans Douwe Slot (piano). They performed in numerous venues and at various festivals, among which the International Chamber Music Festival Schiermonnikoog, the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Radio performances were broadcasted by Radio 4 in programmes like Passaggio, De Klassieken, Podium, Spiegelzaal and Muziekwijzer.

Rianne Jongsma (flute), Wilma Jongsma (oboe) and Arjan Jongsma (marimba) have studied/are studying at the Amsterdam School of the Arts and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Between 2006-2010 they won important awards at the Princess Christina Competi- tion and the National Competition of the Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland.

From 2011 they have organized concerts together with Frans Douwe Slot, concert pianist on the provincial and national stages and a teacher at the Ferwerda Academy, academy for young tal- ent in Drachten and Heerenveen.In No- vember 2012 they premiered the composi- tion Colori by Wim van Ligtenberg as the Jongsma Trio & Frans Douwe Slot. A part of this composition, that was dedicated to them, could be seen and heard in the tel- evision programme “Vrije Geluiden” of the VPRO in June 2013, which was devoted to Peter Schat. In 2015 the CD Colori miti was produced on the initiative of the Mid- Frisian Libraries/Frisian Music Archives and the ensemble changed its name into Colori Ensemble. The concert repertoire for 2015-2016 comprises works by both Frisian and French composers.
