Christina, originally known under the stage name Christl, has definitely left her mark on the German music scene with her powerful voice and unique lyrics. She is a pioneer who has overcome boundaries and dares to address political issues in her lyrics. With her single "Mama Ana Ahabak", which is inspired by the war in Iraq, she proves that she is not afraid to take a stand and still be musically successful.

Her impressive career as a rock-pop musician in Austria, crowned by seven number one albums, speaks for itself. Christina is also the first artist to have been nominated twenty times for the prestigious Austrian Amadeus Music Award, winning it an impressive eleven times.

Now Christina Stürmer is the first female artist in the German-speaking world to face a new challenge: an MTV Unplugged album. The film recordings, directed by Ingo Pertramer, will take place on 22 and 23 August 2023. The album and concert film will be released in autumn 2023, followed by a tour in 2024. For the Linz-born artist, this is not only a challenge, but also a great honour, as she reveals in an interview:

"When I was 11, like everyone else my age, I loved Nirvana's "MTV Unplugged in New York". Every musician probably dreams of doing one themselves - as I have done for the last few years. The fact that I can now really join the ranks of artists like Alanis Morissette, Lauryn Hill, Bon Jovi, Die Toten Hosen, Sportfreunde Stiller and Björk is absolutely amazing for me. I couldn't have imagined anything better for my 20th anniversary. It's a huge honour and a great challenge that I'm really looking forward to."
